Accommodation

Our venue is Canberra Park is a single-storey venue and is fully air-conditioned throughout. Purpose-built in April 2017, it “offers a new standard of specifically designed accommodation for groups visiting our nation’s capital”. Free on-site parking is available.

Canberra Park is located 9km north of the Canberra Centre precinct in Bunda St, Civic – Canberra’s CBD. A 15- to 19-minute ‘RedRapid’ bus ride takes you to the City Bus Station and Civic shops (#200 every 15 min, 6.12am-10.04pm Mon-Fri, also weekend buses)from the Flemington Rd/Well Station Rd bus stop, which is a 12-minute (1.1km) walk from Canberra Park. Information about bus tickets and fares is at: https://www.transport.act.gov.au/myway-and-fares/fares. By car, it is 15 minutes to the Canberra Centre (paid parking).
Capital Region Farmers Market, Stirling Ave, open Saturdays 7.30-11.30am, is 600m (6-mins walk) away. McDonald’s Mitchell, open5.30am-11pm every day, is 500m (5-mins walk) away. The closest local shops are the Watson shops, 1.6km (20-mins walk) away.

Rooms
Most accommodation is in 2-person Twin Rooms: 2-bunk rooms (using the 2 lower beds only) and 2-single-bed Twin Rooms (these rooms have a television). There is also a very limited number of Single Rooms, plus 1 or 2 Accessible Single Rooms (on application; please contact Registrar for details). All rooms are air-conditioned and all have an ensuite bathroom.

Meals
‘All Meals’: For all Residents (Performers and Non-Performers): Included in your Festival Fee are 7 Breakfasts (Mon-Sun); 6 Lunches (Mon-Sat); and 7 Dinners (Sun-Sat) including Sunday’s ‘Welcome’ Dinner and Friday’s ‘Formal’ Dinner with drinks; 10 Morning and Afternoon Teas (all days but Wed); and Saturday night’s After-Concert Party with drinks.

‘NR Meal Pack’: For all Non-Residents (Performers and Non-Performers): Included in your Festival Fee are 5 Lunches (Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri/ Sat); Sunday’s ‘Welcome’ Dinner and Friday’s ‘Formal’ Dinner with drinks; 10 Morning and Afternoon Teas (all days but Wed); and Saturday night’s After-Concert Party with drinks. Please note that:
Breakfasts are not included. These are not available to Non-Residents i.e. cannot be ordered individually and cannot be self-served.
Dinners on Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat are not included, but one or more of these ‘one-off’ Dinners can be ordered and paid for inadvance (indicative cost $20 each; TBC). If you wish to attend any/all of these Dinners, please advise the Festival Registrar ASAP byemail (by 14 September 2018), so they can be ordered for you.
